Writer, Editor, Storyteller — Chicken Soup for the Soul stories by Melanie Saxton

As a writer, editor, and storyteller, I’m excited to announce my fourth Chicken Soup for the Soul story — My Clever, Curious, Caring Cat: 101 Tales of Feline Friendship.

This was a delightful writing opportunity!

This is what I do for fun! When people ask me what I do for a living, I answer, “write!” When people ask me what I do as a hobby, I answer, “write!” Writing for Chicken Soup for the Soul is challenging and the competition is fierce. Thousands and thousands of hopefuls submit their tales, and it’s such an honor to be chosen.

Writer, Editor — and Storyteller at Times!

I’m very focused on writing and editing for others. Author clients hire me to edit their books, or even write their books. Corporate clients need press releases, website copy, blogs, etc. So it’s gratifying as a writer, editor, and all-around scribe to write for “myself” from time to time. All my stories have been about family, friends, and beloved pets. What better topics to chronicle!

I’ve been able to memorialize my pets that have crossed the Rainbow Bridge (Checkers, Chocolate, Eggroll), talk about my dear mother, share insights about my group of friends (who happen to live in my Lake Conroe community), and now chronicle the adventures my sweet blind cat, Bella — a young and enormous female tortoiseshell who was rescued as a three-week old kitten, fostered and bottle fed, and adopted by me.

So, I can now add My Clever, Curious, Caring Cat: 101 Tales of Feline Friendship to my collection of Chicken Soup for the Soul contributions:

  1. Available on Amazon (published by Simon Schuster): Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Cat Really Did That?: 101 Stories of Miracles, Mischief and Magical Moments
  2. Available on Amazon: Chicken Soup for the Soul: Mom Knows Best: 101 Stories of Love, Gratitude & Wisdom
  3. Available on Amazon: Chicken Soup for the Soul: Be You: 101 Stories of Affirmation, Determination and Female Empowerment

How cool is that?
