If you plan on having your manuscript or business content edited in the future, consider an editing reservation now!
A downpayment will hold your spot and can be scheduled as far out as needed. It blocks space on my editorial calendar and ensures your project will get the time and attention it deserves. How to Choose the Right Editor
First, interview editors (including me) to determine who will be the best fit. Your prospective editor should be able to describe past projects, share a portfolio, point you to testimonials, and discuss the timeline and deliverables for your book.
Your prospective editor should also describe her educational background, involvement in the writing and editing community, and knowledge of style guides such as AP and the Chicago Manual of Style.
Chemistry is important. Many of my clients hire me because they feel I’m helpful, honest, efficient, highly experienced, independent, and interested in their projects. They’ve also selected me because I’ve been working in the literary realm for more than 35 years. I know this industry and share tips and best practices that can help many new and emerging authors.
Payment Options
Your downpayment holds your spot and is credited back to the overall project cost. Therefore, reserving your space on my calendar costs you nothing extra. Payments can be made by Venmo, Zelle (preferred), PayPal, check, or cash. I provide invoices and receipts and track payments.
