A Fantasy Editor Brings Perspective
Although a fantasy editor can become a fan, that doesn’t mean we lose objectivity. Quite the opposite. The more we admire the premise of a book, the more we want it to succeed. Sometimes we function as beta readers (of sorts), meaning we read and edit while keeping in mind the conventions of English and the unique elements that readers have come to expect from the genre.
