As a sports journalist and golf book editor, I’ve covered incredible people and places that inspire authors to write about sports of all kinds, and the ever-popular topic of golf.
I’m fortunate to live on a fairway off of a lake in a golf course community and enjoy watching golfers right outside of my yard. The fun, the focus, and the antics are part of my life as I ghostwrite and edit books.

Below is an article I wrote for The Woodlands City Lifestyle detailing the coming attractions at Bluejack National, the first golf course designed by Tiger Woods. For the authors out there, I hope you find it inspirational as you ponder your own golf writing journey, develop a manuscript, and look for a golf book editor.

If you live in Montgomery County, you’ve probably heard of the acclaimed Bluejack National golf course, residences, and the world’s coolest hangout, The Fort. To sweeten the experience, Bluejack is introducing an exciting new feature — The Sanctuary.
Coming Soon!
Whether you live in one of the 420 Bluejack homes or enjoy membership amenities, The Sanctuary is the perfect place to relax, rejuvenate, and reclaim your health. This wellness and fitness spa is set in a tranquil pine grove with plenty of fresh air and wide-open spaces.
Slated to open this summer, The Sanctuary’s movement studio, heated horizon lap pool, cold plunge pool, Jacuzzis, yoga lawns, treadmills, bicycles, elliptical machines, and personal trainers are sure to motivate.
Indulge in massage therapies, salt saunas, steam rooms, grooming and barber services, and a nail salon for a well-deserved pampering after a long week at the office — or on the golf course! Then head over to the Spa Cuisine & Beverage Bar, the Juice, Coffee & Cocktail Bar, or Molly’s Café.
According to President and General Manager Brett Schoenfield, these experiences are transformational. “You breathe differently in this unique environment, with authentic and sincere hospitality and an adept staff focused on our mission.”
Exploring Bluejack
Bluejack National is an award-winning private residential club and home to the first Tiger Woods-designed golf course. In January, Golfweek designated Bluejack as #1 Texas and #18 of the top 200 residential golf courses in the United States.
“We’ve seen a flurry of activity at Bluejack and are so blessed with the rapid expansion of Montgomery, Magnolia, and the 249 corridor,” says Schoenfield. “An unusual collection of people and assets has created a magical culture you can’t find anywhere else. The charm and laid-back luxury — not at all pretentious — attracts a special audience.” Residents live a resort lifestyle in stunning Bluejack Builder homes, Lake Villas, The Retreats, Sunday Homes, Cottages, and Member Suites.
There’s so much to do and see on the Bluejack’s 767 acres. For instance, Golf Inc. crowned The Fort as the Amenity of the Year due to its incredible waterpark with a 150-foot water slide, swimming and lagoon pools, a mini-Fenway Park-style Green Monster for Wiffle Ball games, a basketball court, a football field, and a lake for fishing and canoeing.
Bowling lanes, ping pong, a game room, an arts and crafts room, a burger grill and bar, and an ice cream station top off indoor adventures.
Memberships
You don’t have to live at Bluejack to enjoy all it has to offer. It’s a great place to work, visit, and develop relationships.
Golf and business memberships provide access to all club facilities. National membership provides access to all club facilities for those who live 200 miles from Bluejack National. Lifestyle memberships provide access to all club facilities (except golf) — including The Sanctuary!
